Shopkick App!

Have you heard about an app called Shopkick? I found this app about six weeks ago and I kinda like it! I haven't had it long enough to really say that it is awesome but it is heading in that direction. So let's find out what it can really do!

What is it?

Shopkick is an app that basically will give you gift cards and rewards for the amount of "kicks" you try to earn. A "kick" is like a point system. So you have to get so many kicks to earn a certain amount on a gift card. You earn kicks by either walking into a store and it will give you a certain amount just for that. You can earn kicks by scanning items/barcodes (no purchase necessary). You can also earn kicks by purchasing certain items. In the app it will give the information about how many kicks you can get and what you need to do to get them.

It will detect the stores that are local and then show what kicks are available to earn. You can then accumulate your kicks to get gift cards to Old Navy, Target, Macy's, etc. Another great way to earn kicks is to invite friends from Facebook to join. You will receive 2,000 kicks for every three friends that join. Here is the link to their website that gives a tour of how the app works.

So I was willing to give it a try and so far it is pretty easy. I know it will take a while to accumulate enough kicks before I get my gift cards but why not try. All I do is scan items or walk in. I don't even have to purchase items if I don't want to! After I use this app for a while I will write a follow up post about if it is really worth having or not.
