Diaper Box Makeover

The meaning of thrifty: (of a person or their behavior) using money and other resources carefully and not wastefully.

Being a new mom now, I'm sure I will find myself going out and buying all sorts of baby items over and over. More wipes, creams, lotions, and diapers. After a while those diaper boxes will be hard to store and will take up lots of space in our tiny apartment. I'm finding myself taking the diapers out of the boxes, keeping them in the plastic, and cramming them in any space I can find. Let's just say that under baby's bed is no longer available for storage! Well now I have some good sized empty boxes. I will probably throw out most of them but I am keeping one or two for some projects. One that I found on Pinterest is the diaper box makeover. I love this idea!

The Diaper Box Transformation

When I am on Pinterest I LOVE looking for DIY projects. A few months before baby was born I stumbled upon this idea. I just didn't have any baby yet to have empty diaper boxes. I think that this is such a great idea opposed to buying expensive storage crates, boxes, or whatever. And this being a DIY project, you can have the say on what style and color you want it! The link I have posted below is for a DIY diaper box that uses rope. I think it is a cute way to make it look more rustic than fancy. But there are so many different ways to do them. Take a look!

This one below is more fancy looking and I love that it is being used to store baby items. I love being organized so this is a great solution for all you crafty moms out there!

I haven't been able to make these boxes yet but as soon as I'm able to get out with baby I will be heading to Porters to pick up some cute fabric and get to work on these boxes. I hope they will turn out as cute as the ones I find on Pinterest!
